Walk It Out

As I sit in the library, peering outside wishing it would stop snowing so I could walk home more comfortably, I stopped to think about the benefits of the LTC bus strike. What is all this walking with my heavy school bag doing for me besides breaking my back?

Well did you know that according to Self, research has shown that
"people who walk approximately 20-25 miles per week outlive those who don't walk by several years."

That's right ladies and gents! On average, every minute of walking can extend your life by 1.5 - 2 minutes! Not to mention that walking an extra 20 minutes a day (which is what most of us are doing) will burn off 7 pounds of body fat per year.

  1. this strike is killing me!!
but at least ill stay skinny:)

  2. I really don't mind walking ... it's the only exercise I get when my decision to go to the gym never follows through. I would just like my money back if that's the case so I could use it towards funding other stuff.

HOWEVER, although walking is nice ... winter always reminds us that trekking through snow is not always the greatest idea. Hope everyone stays warm!

  3. Exercise or not - Strikes suck!! - unless you happen to be bowling.

  4. Yes, I agree with Rahella. I am not going to be a fan of walking in the snowy winter.

haha and you are right BigAl, strikes do suck for everyone but bowlers!

  5. walking to class from downtown, not to mention walking to work at the mall from downtown has been a long but good work out!
